I am deeply enamoured by nature’s beauty and the diverse life forms it encompasses. Working in the realm of natural resources and environmental management feels like a perfect fit for me, aligning my passion with purpose.
Within this role, I’ve contributed to various initiatives aimed at mitigating environmental impact. From advocating for water and energy conservation practices to spearheading projects in wastewater treatment and recycling, my endeavours prioritize holistic approaches rooted in green chemistry principles. I have been involved in projects with public and private sector promoting nature-based solutions like wetland restoration, constructing wetlands for pollution treatment, and establishing biogas plants for waste management that aid carbon offsets. As the founder of Verdure Environmental Foundation, I lead efforts toward carbon and water neutrality through innovative projects, leveraging my expertise in promoting circularity concepts, wastewater treatment and renewable energy integration.
Recognizing that change begins at home, we have instilled environmentally conscious practices within my family. We segregate waste, divert handwash water for garden irrigation, and engage in conversations with our children about environmental issues. Their creative solutions, like repurposing plastic waste for pavements and harnessing hydrogen from methane landfills, showcase their budding environmental stewardship.
These actions, while seemingly small, collectively contribute to reducing energy consumption and fostering carbon offsets. I take pride in nurturing a culture of environmental responsibility within my family, community and other stakeholders believing that through education and collective action, we can safeguard our precious natural resources for generations to come.
