MANILA, June 23, 2025 — Climate Smart Ventures (CSV) has announced the appointment of Ping Mendoza as Senior Advisor and Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) of the Asia Energy Transition Platform (AETP), a venture capital initiative established by CSV in 2023 to fast-track Southeast Asia’s shift to clean energy.
CSV, headquartered in Singapore, specialises in capital market-driven solutions that support a just and managed transition from conventional energy sources to renewables — tailored to the region’s fast-paced growth. As sole owner and cornerstone investor of AETP, CSV is focused on accelerating energy transition solutions across the commercial and industrial (C&I) segment, particularly those integrating advanced energy storage technologies.
In his dual role, Mendoza will lead AETP’s commercial strategy, oversee investor engagement, and work closely with senior management to refine the platform’s strategic vision. His remit also includes business development, venture building, and ensuring that investee companies receive operational and financial guidance to scale effectively.
With a particular emphasis on unlocking new opportunities in the Philippines and across the region, Mendoza will co-lead fundraising activities, conduct financial and market due diligence, and help structure investment deals in line with AETP’s risk-return-impact framework.
“The energy this new role brings is palpable as I take on this challenge, which I see as a natural progression of my long-standing commitment to accelerating the energy transition in the Philippines,” said Mendoza. “This opportunity allows me to work closely with visionary leaders, innovative companies, and purpose-driven investors to build ventures that drive real, measurable impact in clean energy and climate finance.”
Bringing over a decade of experience in clean energy across solar, wind, electric mobility, energy storage, and energy efficiency, Mendoza has held leadership roles at Shell, Clime Capital, AboitizPower, and Solar Philippines. He currently serves as President and Board Member of the Philippine Solar and Storage Energy Alliance (PSSEA), and is a co-founder of residential solar technology platform Yuda.com.ph.
His appointment signals CSV’s intent to strengthen its leadership capacity at a critical moment for energy transition financing in Southeast Asia, where decentralised renewable energy solutions are seen as essential to climate resilience, energy access, and economic development.
“What excites me most is the chance to contribute both strategically and operationally—from helping shape the commercial vision to leading venture building for our early-stage portfolio companies,” Mendoza added. “It aligns deeply with my personal mission: to create scalable, forward-looking technology solutions that advance distributed and decentralised development, empower local talent, and attract long-term capital to support changemakers across the region.”
CSV’s AETP continues to attract interest as a platform committed to bridging capital with climate action, particularly in emerging markets where renewable infrastructure, technological innovation, and policy alignment are converging to define Asia’s energy future.
